We love everything about Indian food, and are delighted to have an Indian restaurant in the Mount Washington Valley that we can frequent when the urge hits! Although our son Noah works with a fellow computer engineer who grew up in India and claims that ‘this’ is not “authentic Indian food”, we think it is really delicious! Started in 1994 by Dhanwant Singh and his family, the restaurant has a friendly atmosphere and a steady repeat customer base. They are very amenable to serving flavorful food with a spiciness exactly to your liking. Dana likes it completely mild, while Chris and I like it smoking hot, and we are never disappointed!

The menu is full of vegetarian and non-vegetarian choices. Some of our favorites are Saag Paneer, Channa Saag and Baingan Bhartha. Shalimar recently moved from their North Conway/Seavey Street location to a nice restaurant a bit south on Route 16, overlooking Cathedral and White Horse Ledges. Lunch is served Tue-Sun 11-2; Dinner 7 days starting at 5 pm.
