Polar Express Event
December, 2007 - Call today to reserve your Polar Express Package!
All aboard the Polar Express train ... a magical journey to the North Pole based on Chris Van Allsburg’s award winning book. Leaving from the historic North Conway train station, only ten minutes from The Lodge, this experience includes a wonderful evening train ride, a sea of elves, and of course, Santa himself. The train is full of children and adults dressed in their pajamas about to relive the experience of a little boy who has been told by his friends that there is no Santa Claus. Unwilling to believe this, he lies awake in his bed on Christmas Eve, awaiting the sound of Santa's sleigh. Instead, he hears the hissing steam and squeaking metal of the Polar Express train as it stops outside his window, waiting to take him and other children to the North Pole.
This Polar Express event is one of the major fundraisers for the Believe in Books Literacy Foundation. It is brought to life by the collective efforts of hundreds of volunteers, all dressed in appropriate outfits, along with an extremely dedicated staff. Together they help our guests to truly believe! The Lodge at Jackson Village is one of the major sponsors of the Polar Express. Read more about our Polar Express Packages...

Bretton Woods Canopy Tour
This is something that the Bretton Woods Ski Resort recently added. Located right here in Bretton Woods, NH, and descending over 1000 feet of elevation, the tour takes nature-lovers and thrill-seekers across a series of tree-top zip lines, and is the longest zip line canopy tour in New England and one of the longest canopy tours in the continental United States! High-flying suspension bridges and hiking trails connect the zip lines, and the tour concludes with the Williwaw Racing Zip, a dual, side-by-side zip line leading right into the Bretton Woods base area!
Designed and constructed by Bonsai Design Inc., this unique canopy tour features a dual-cable construction (you slide below two separate cables, instead of just one), coated cables (to make for a quiet, more natural flight through the trees) and platforms and bridges milled from locally-harvested wood sources, in keeping with their commitment to environmentally sustainable programs.
Watch their movie at here. All in all, a unique New Hampshire experience not to be missed!
